Fee letters go wrong when they apologize, because apology quietly invites negotiation. Mine has three parts: the new number, the date it begins, and this wording. "You have ninety days at your current rate. If the new one doesn't work for your budget, say so and we'll plan the next step together." The runway is the respect. People leave over being surprised far more than over being charged more, and a fee raised with notice usually gets absorbed in one session of grumbling. The client who asks a blunt question about money is generally the one staying. It's the silence you follow up on.
Thank you for taking a moment to talk about the updated fee. This change supports steady, high-quality care by covering time for session prep, secure tools, and ongoing training. It also helps keep scheduling stable and focused on your goals.
The aim is to protect the space where real progress happens. Questions and feelings about cost are welcome and important. Please share what comes up so the best path forward can be set together.
Your care works best when choices fit your needs and budget. The fee update can be matched with options that still keep momentum. Together, choices can be mapped that honor your goals, like session length, timing, or format.
Openness about limits is welcome and will guide the plan. Respect for your comfort remains central throughout. Please say what would help most so a good option can be chosen today.
A payment plan can spread costs in a way that feels doable. Split payments can match pay days and avoid late charges when the plan is followed. Clear bills and reminders can lower stress and prevent surprises.
The goal is steady access to care without a tight squeeze each month. Terms can stay simple and can change if life shifts. Please ask for the setup that fits best so the plan can start right away.
A short-term shift in session frequency can ease the change while keeping progress steady. Meetings can move to every other week for a set period, with brief check-ins as needed. Clear goals and simple between-session steps can help maintain gains.
A review date can be set to see what is working and what needs a tweak. This gives breathing room without losing focus. Please share if this pace feels right so a timeline can be set.
When a different fee range would serve better, referrals can keep care moving without pause. Options may include therapists with sliding scales, community clinics, group therapy, or online visits with lower costs. Direct introductions and shared notes, with consent, can support a smooth change.
Support can continue during a short bridge period to protect progress. Your well-being stays the top focus through any change. Please say if exploring referrals would help so a tailored list can be prepared.
